| Sterling silver thimbles
925/1000 parts silver no known maker's marks or no marks Notice how many of the pre-1884 thimbles have a similar feathery patterned band [also known as wriggle-work]:- yet they are all different. This is the most typical design for this period. It was only after 1884 that British sterling silver thimbles needed to be hallmarked and after this this patterning seemed to be used less. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
